Huawei’s Smart String Energy Storage System is a modular and scalable energy storage solution housed in a containerized 20-foot unit for easy deployment. It integrates battery cells, battery packs, and battery racks, each carefully managed for optimal performance and extended lifespan. Huawei integrates power electronics and digital technologies within energy storage and manages inconsistent lithium batteries with controllable power semiconductor devices. Pack-level optimization individually controls the charging performance of each pack. The pack optimizer manages each pack independently to avoid serial mismatch.
The system utilizes SmartPV Management Technology to monitor and control the charging and discharging processes. Fault detection and isolation are automatic, ensuring no disruption to the entire system. With a high availability of ≥99.9%, the solution ensures continuous operation, even if some packs are isolated.
